The initial idea dictates whether the artist's exploration is two-dimensional on
paper or panel or is three-dimensional and all media and materials are possible choices to be used in the exploration of the idea. Metaphor is achieved through layering to be used in the exploration of the idea and is achieved through layering of color on color, image on image,
as well as using found objects. This process creates a rich surface which then resonates when the final image emerges.
